Even though I thought it was a forced line at best I think the biggest
reason that Pavelka is gone is for one reason, ego. Kent seemed to think
that Nebraska football and his name go hand in hand like it had with
Lyle Bremser. The problem with that is the fact that Lyle had been doing
the Husker games for decades. Kent was hitting about ten years or a bit
more when he was canned. Besides this, another reason is the fact that
most fans I knew would listen to Kent to hear concocted, harebrain
adages and opinions, not for his prowess for calling a Husker game. I'm
also sure that money had something to do with it.
