With this statement, you seem to be emphasizing a rather disturbing 
change in the mindset of college football fans.  I've even heard some 
people say that "if you can recruit, then you don't have to be that 
great of a gameday coach to be successful. "  Recruiting is one of 
*several* factors that determines how successful a team will become.

Under this coaching staff, the Huskers have had problems competing 
against teams which have comparable, and sometimes less, talent.  You 
don't need to look any farther than last week's ass-kicking by Kansas to 
see that.  You could see evidence of it last year in our losses to 
Southern Miss and Kansas State.

I'm willing to give Callahan another year (maybe 2) to show what he can 
do with "his talent."  However, bringing in good recruits is not enough 
to guarantee the championship-level of success that Steve Pederson 
promised fans after firing a 9-3 coach.
