No doubt, a player would be a fool to declare publicly his unhappiness with
the coaches. But not trashing the coaches is a long way from praising them.
Nothing requires the quoted players to praise the coaches: they could remain
silent. That they have chosen to praise the coaches indicates a) that they
are sincere, or b) that they are the worst sort of sycophants. I have
trouble accepting b) without some evidence.
