I think you're missing the point of his comment. The original poster had said more or less that, "Regardless of what the record is, with TO and Bobfater we'd feel good about the direction of the program."
Bill was arguing that statement was false and that regardless of who the coach is, a 10-10 record would not manke any fans feel good about the direction of the program.
