Yes, but I think it was Emory (sp) Hicks who protested the interference call and was flagged, twice, which added 30 more yards to the original 15 yard pass interference play. Hicks would have likely been ejected under today's rules as angry and as "in your face" as he was to the referee that day.

NU had the ball late, but it was 4th and long. Tagge (I think) threw
to Jim McFarlend, a very good tight end. The ball was way overthrown
but we got a pass interference call. I think today the ball would
have been ruled uncatchable and there would have been no call. KU
would have taken over on downs and won the game.
