[Husker] "1968"

If only you were right... consider of the parallel between 68 and 05. the first game of the following season was USC. we played a spirited game, lost 31-21, but there was a collective feeling we had returned.
At least in 67 and 68 we had winning records. As I recall we hit a lean period as far as our talent went.
Maybe that's what's so frustrating about this transition. Several comments have suggested our talent is competitive with Mizzo, KU and others If that's so, why are we getting blown out?
Is it really just "the system"?
Remember Vince Lombardi, it's all blocking and tackling. I don't care what formation you run out of, the team that blocks and tackles better is going to win.
Somethings going on here. I don't know what it is, but then I'm not paid to know or to find out. But there are those whose job it is. And they better do their jobs soon.

I remember how the 68 season ended, with a 47-0 loss to Oklahoma at
Norman. That year KU and OU shared the Big 8 title with one loss
each. NU was 3-4 with loses to KU, MU, KSU (12-0 at home) and OU.
KSU had been winnless in the Big 8 for some time when they beat us.
I think that the 68 season was worse than the 05 has been.
