[Husker] Beck

I was wondering today as I was missing the second half if BC might consider
putting Beck in "for a spark" or even if Taylor got knocked out. At this
point, with two games left, even the increasingly remote chance of getting bowl
eligible is not worth burning the redshirt. Beck is supposed to be the
future of the program and he should be getting back-up snaps behind Taylor next
season and then have three years to start. There is NOTHING to be gained by
burning his redshirt at this point. He would not get enough experience and
there is a good chance he would end up like Beau Davis against TT last year,
given how poor the O-line is playing. The smartest thing BC could do at this
point would be to publicly announce that Beck is redshirting and not dress him
for the rest of the season so he doesn't do something stupid on gameday.

I can forgive the emotional outbursts, and I can give Callahan and co
another year or two for their recruits to get experience, bulk up, and start
dominating. However, if he burns Beck's redshirt at this point, he should be fired
that very day...period. That would demonstrate an inexcusable lack of
judgement, imho.

Anyone want to take bets that Callahan pulls a brain fart and burns Beck's
redshirt in the next 2 weeks?

About 2 or 3 games ago I was all for this, thinking the back up game
experience would help Beck a ton, but now I think it would be a huge mistake. I have
a sneaking suspicion Callahan and Norvell are considering this. I'm not sure
all these struggles are Taylor's fault anyway, the line is worse than a
sieve. Beck may actually get his head knocked off in this offense.

What does it say about the o-line when Lucky breaks huge kickoffs and always
seems one step away from a td, and when he's in the game at RB, he looks
like me running it. Not much else could go wrong at this point.
