Mostly, it's the f'n hillbilly comment but there are other little  
things over time (the WOW comment which I thought was totally  
disingenuous comes to mind) which lead me to believe he doesn't  
really care about the Huskers past what he can get out of coaching  
them.  I think he wants to show that world that his 'way' is 'the  
way' and Oakland was wrong about him and if tradition goes by the  
wayside that's just fine.
