This is a husker list, not exclusively a Husker football list. The
volleyball team hasn't been mentioned since August. Not recently. Based on
the comments, I guess if we went back to 95 when the football team was so
good, there would have been no posts because they were beating everyone so
soundly. Why do I doubt that. As for the soccer team, - I don't remember
any posts on them this year. I suspect we'll hear about the men's
basketball team in January when they go into their annual swoon in the Big
12.
Actually, Mr Buckley, the ladies Volleyball team has been mentioned a couple
of times, particularly early in the season when they beat four of the five
teams that started the season in the #2 through #6 poll spots behind them, to
include your Rainbow Wahine (who have developed into a much more impressive
team after some early-season struggles with injuries.)
They have indeed not been mentioned lately because they have only dropped 6
games all season, and only 3 in 13 Big XII matches. They have only gone 5
games one time, and that was after giving up a 5-point lead in game 3 after
winning the first 2.
As mentioned by another poster, unless there is an upset, there's not a lot
to talk about with regard to the Lady Cornhuskers, until we start looking at
tournament seedings.
I will say I would really like to see them play Washington. My family and I
went to the first match this season between UW and UH and saw the second on
TV here in Honolulu. From what I've seen the Huskers and Huskies are on
another level above everyone else. Hopefully they will be in opposite tournament
brackets so they can meet in the championship game and not some regional or
final-four elimination game.
As I write this, I'm watching my DVR of the NU-OU volleyball match and NU is
one game away from what will hopefully be their 11th sweep in 14 conference
matches.
GO BIG RED
