"That should read sleep at night "knowing", not nowing. It's been a long
day at the office."
You shouldn't have to apologize for an occasional typo. Happens to most
of us (too often to me).
"Should the staff wait a couple years until the "option offense" players
are out of the system?"
Yes, they should have waited until they had players who were ready and
capable of implementing the new system. Coaches are the adults. They
should adapt to the players rather than the other way around.
I think that when sweeping changes are made to an entire offensive
system, short-term success is nearly impossible"
I agree, but, to some extent this is my point. Why was there a need for
sweeping changes? Sure, there were some downer games in 2003, but the
Huskers were 10-3 and played for the NC two years before.
"Yes, it sucks that Nebraska is getting whacked by Missouri and Texas
Tech and barely beating Baylor and Pitt, but I'm not sure why folks
didn't expect this for a couple seasons after the changes."
The stated reason the change was made was for things to get better.
Steve P didn't say "I think the programs going the wrong way, but it's
OK to sink it even farther before we make it better"
