[Husker] Coach question

I'm not sure how the coach can be considered pig headed for his adherence to get his system in place- did Callahan blame someone else for the 5-6 season? I'm not sure who he could blame, other than the players or himself, but I didn't hear who it was. Should the staff wait a couple years until the "option offense" players are out of the system? I think that when sweeping changes are made to an entire offensive system, short-term success is nearly impossible- unless other factors play in (schedule, luck, etc.). And I don't want to hear about Notre Dame, either- they would've been 9-3 with Willingham this season too, they returned a ton of quality players. (I say that because many folks want to compare Callahan's perceived failure to Weis's immediate success).

One of the things I've noticed regarding this whole situation is that many people are unwilling to deal with a couple turbulent seasons in order to enjoy future success. In fact, many people get pissed thinking the team record is the most important thing during the first 2-3 seasons of an overhaul, and forget that there are a million other positives being instilled in this team as we speak (type). What's that saying- it's always darkest before the light? Yes, it sucks that Nebraska is getting whacked by Missouri and Texas Tech and barely beating Baylor and Pitt, but I'm not sure why folks didn't expect this for a couple seasons after the changes. No, it doesn't mean anyone has to like it, I know I don't, but I also understand it comes with the territory. I can sleep at night nowing that this team will be better after it gains experience in this system.

Had he taken personal
responsibility for last years disastrous season caused by his pig-headed
adherence to getting his system in place despite not having the players
to run it, I'd feel better about him.
