You sure Harvey Perlman would?
At the time SP was hired, he looked like a good choice. He was familiar
with Nebraska's AD. He is a Nebraskan. He'd done a good job at Pitt. He'd
had a good track record as an athletic director. How was Harvey to know
that SP's ego would go bonkers?
Harvey Perlman shouldn't be that affected by this, other than at some
point, having to replace Steve Pederson (even if Callahan works out okay,
AD's tend to last for a max of 10 years, don't they?). If Nebraska wants
to look really dumb, we would demand that a head guy at the University
gets fired because the athletic department is screwed up. We'd make sure
to tell everyone in the world where our priorities lie.
The University of Nebraska looks like it's in a lot better shape
academically than when I was there in the 80's. Seems like the quality has
gone way up, and in some areas (Arts, for example), is way beyond where it
was previously. This is what it looks like not living in Nebraska. Perhaps
if you're there, you're much more jaded because you have to pay for it.

In any case, leave Harvey out of it. Other than SP, I believe he's doing a
good job.
