Perhaps, but I saw the quick turnaround as primarily the product of a much
weaker schedule, with a bit of improvement as well. The big problem in 2003
(as others have pointed out) was not the number of losses, but the nature of
those losses: when the team faced stiff competition, they generally folded
like a three-dollar card table. That was also true last year, but it has not
been the case yet this year. The Huskers have been in every game. They are
not yet anywhere near where they need to be, but I believe the trend is in
the right direction. We'll see.
