On the same subject, it appears at first glance that Miami, which is
a lower seed than Nebraska, has an easier regional. The #2 seed in
Miami is Mississippi St. and the #2 seed in Lincoln is NC St. It
would seem that NC St. has a better RPI (12 vs 21), is generally
higher ranked (23 vs 32 in Collegiate Baseball / ESPN), and has a
better W-L record. A bracket based purely on rankings would put the
#30 team as the #2 seed in Lincoln and the #19 team as the #2 seed in
Miami. NC St looks pretty good to be the #30 seeded team. I'll be
rooting a little extra for Creighton to beat NC St.

Does Miami get an easier regional because they are Miami or is this
just a result of geographic considerations (although I'm guessing
sending Mississippi St to Lincoln and NC St to Miami wouldn't have
increased total mileage much and might have decreased it)? Why does
NU have such a tough #2 seed?
