[Husker] Nebraska's RPI problem

Thanks for the stats and analysis Jay,

Looking at your post and the schedule, a couple of things stand out that I
think helped the Huskers overcome the poor RPI.

First and most obvious, 51-13, Big 12 regular season and tourney titles.

Second, although the Huskers played 22 games against teams with horrible
RPIs, they won all 22, and most of them very convincingly. One or two losses
against that level of competition might have cost them a lot.

Third, the Huskers only lost 2 (yes two) series this season. They went 1-2
against Texas and Creighton. Anyone know Creighton's RPI? (And yes I know
they lost to USC and Texas State, but those were single games in a tournament,
not series.)

Finally, only five (5) of the Husker's 13 losses were by more than 1 run,
and two of those were by only 2 runs. The 3 larger margins were 4-1 to Baylor,
5-1 at OU, and that 11-4 debacle against Texas. This indicates that even
against their better competition, the Huskers had very few "bad days."

Okay that was four things.

Great season for the most part, now let's hope that they can carry on and
get back to Rosenblatt!

Go Big Red!
