Jay,
I think it is safe to say that you are very
knowledgeable about college baseball so I am not
arguing what you wrote. My question is, how can you
still think NU will be left out of a top 8 seed? If
anyone gets left out I think that it would be Baylor.
I think the Huskers have done enough to get a seed
after Saturday. A win today would be nice, but I
don't think that it is necessary to get a seed.
From what I have been reading over the last few
weeks on the college baseball websites, most people
around the nation think NU is one of the best teams in
the country and assured a national seed.
My next question is about the SEC. I have read
predictions from several sites that have them getting
10 teams into the tourney. Do you believe that is
going to happen? The Big 12, IMHO, is the strongest
league in the country, and they are projecting 5
teams. What do you think?
Thanks

"Side note - I think NU deserves a top 8 national seed
by
being Big 12 co-champion and at least Big 12 runner-up
in
the tournament. And one could justify 3 top 8 seeds
with
Texas, Baylor and NU for the Big 12. But I think one
might
get left out and my own feeling is that if NU doesn't
win
today, it will be them. Unfortunately, RPI's often
carry
too much weight and NU's is high teens to low 20's win
or
lose today.

Not the goal but the game.
