[Husker] Why Nebraska should be better

To those who expect improvement this year here is why I have hope. (As
always key injuries could absolutely destroy this season)

The offense should be improved

a. a quarterback who should be able to run the system. Hopefully it will
help us return to third and short situations again.

b while not deep, a decent run blocking offensive line. Very strong in the
middle. (It would be great to see Greg Austin stay healthy. What a warrior
he is.)

c. The ability of the coach to open the playbook a little more.

d. Better receivers (It would be really nice to have Herian healthy though)

e. Cory is healthy and there is better depth at running back.

The defense should be improved.

a. Smith and Adams were not very dominant last year. They basically played
every snap and were tired and beat up. With backups available, I believe the
defensive line will be very strong.

b. The front seven looks to be very good. It is very possible Bo will be
better than his brother.

c. People observing spring said Daniel Bullocks is greatly improved.

d. Zach Bowman was the top defensive player in juco. One would think he
could come in and start at corner. Wow a big, fast corner.

e. The offense should move the ball better, so the defense should spend
fewer plays on the field.

Kicking game

This could be huge this season

a. Last year Downing's kick-off coverage scheme relied on placing the ball,
especially in the corner. Sandro inevitably kicked it short to the middle of
the field and the coverage was not in position to stop the return. By
reports, Congdon has good control over placing his kicks.

b. field goal accuracy and ability to take advantage of scoring
opportunities.
