My statement about 11-0 is based 100% on the schedule
and 0% on the 2005 Huskers. Why 0%? I still don't
know why they went 5-6 last season. I know it is
likely a combination of depth issues at certain
positions, learning curve, the painful transition, and
poor coaching. And we'll all argue until we're blue
in the face how much each factor came into play, and
how each factor has been corrected in year 2, if at
all.

All I know is that Nebraska's final record will
probably be somewhere between 1-10 and 10-1. With the
schedule like it is, Steve R. nailed it; anything less
than 8-3 will be disappointing. From the perspective
of spring 2005, the schedule looks extremely
favorable: only road games are at Baylor, at Mizzou,
at Kansas, and at Colorado. Tech and Oklahoma break
in new QB's and come to Lincoln. You probably need to
go back to the years when the Huskers played South
Dakota to find a softer schedule.
