I completely fail to see the two year away scenario. Why so long?

Although he had a late first year start in recruiting, this is Callahan's
second year with "his" recruits.
Callahan has the reputation of being a "great" recruiter. It certainly
looks that way.
Callahan's coaching staff is no longer in a transition period.
The players should know his system before the end of this year with another
year of experience.
Most of the non-Callahan players have graduated, transferred, dropped, out
or taken an early route to the NFL.
All, or nearly all, of the remaining players should be "in" Callahan's camp
and into the system at the start of this year.
The transition period should be shortened by Callahan strongly going the
JUCO route.

We don't have to have the success of 94 or 95 teams to prove Callahan was
the right man and we have arrived. IMO, the first desired plateau is to be
consistently competitive.

I am ready for the onslaught, but why am I wrong.
