With Oklahoma looking a little more mortal this year,
and with Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Kansas
State all coming to Lincoln, 11-0 certainly would be
more realistic in 2005 than in any year since 2001.
These are spring prognostications, though, but the
entire schedule looks the softest I can ever remember.
Even in the days when the Big 8 was hurting, there
were a couple of non-conference challenges.
I think a winning record and a bowl game is probably
the bare minimum for Pederson's survival into 2006.
(Isn't his contract up this December?) Callahan
probably gets a little more leash than his boss,
especially if the incoming recruits live up to the
expectations of the recruitniks.
