Jesse Boyer jacked one over the fence to give NU a 6-5
victory over Mizzou in the bottom of the 11th for a series
win over MU. NU nearly lost the game by having 2 or 3
errors leading to 4 runs in the 7th and a tie game after
building a 5-1 lead. After loading the bases with 1 out,
they still couldn't push across a run in the bottom of the
inning. A couple great defensive plays snuffed out NU
scoring threats in the following innings, but the bullpen
held on and Boyer bailed out the team with the homer.

Texas amazingly enough lost 2 of 3 to Kansas this weekend
and barring a collapse by Baylor (4 losses in 6 remaining
games) is out of the race for conference champion of the
regular season.

The standings as of games played through Sunday, May 8th:

                 Opp left
Baylor 15-6 TAMU, MU
NU 14-7 TT, KSU
Texas 14-9 TAMU
Mizzou 12-9 KU, BU
OSU 10-11 OU, KU

Nebraska owns the tiebreaker against BU, and has the
"easier" road in the last 6 games. NU needs to sweep both
TT and KU and show well in the Big 12 tourney to pave the
way for a regional host and possible top 8 seed which I
still think needs both a Big 12 regular and tournament
placement of 1st or 2nd.
