[Husker] TO to run for governor

Ever heard of JC Watts, Steve Largent, or Jack Kemp??  All former football standouts who seemed to be fairly good at politics.

Tom Osborne has a PhD in educational psychology.  He is well educated
and well spoken.  He can communicate well and motivate those who work
for him.

He was in charge of an operation that generated multi-million dollar
revenues and profits, employed hundreds of people, and was the most
successful operation of its kind over more than two decades in a highly
competitve industry.

He was one of the most visibible figures in the state and regularly
dealt with the state and national media.  Even with intense public
scrutiny, he maintained a widespread reputation as a principled man
of high integrity.

He has an extensive record of community service, founding a nationally
known mentoring program, making significant monetary donations to
Nebraska's public institutions and other charities, etc.

He was elected and served in the U.S. House of Representatives and
seems to have been fairly successful, insofar as freshmen representatives
go.

He seems to me to have many qualifications for becoming governor
without mentioning his football success.  Tell me, what qualifications
does he lack?  What qualifications does the current governor (or
previous governors) have that Osborne lacks?  Who would you propose
as a better qualified governor?

Tell me, Bob, you have implied here and in previous emails that
Osborne's only qualification is having won football games and that
Nebraska voters would elect him just because of his football coaching
success.  Certainly, his football success gives him name recognition
(whidh is a boon for any candidate), but what makes you repeatedly
dismiss his many excellent qualifications as a candidate.  Why does
his candidacy get your goat?
