Well, NU pitched itself in and out of trouble in the late
innings to take the series from OU after losing the opener.
TT and MU did Nebraska favors as well today beating Baylor
and Texas, ensuring that no ground would be lost in the
standings.
BU 14-6
NU 12-6
UT 12-7
MU 11-6
Sunday's results could tighten things up even more if Baylor
loses again. One could even say NU controls their own
destiny. Finishing the conference schedule with 11 straight
victories would give them the title. But Mizzou showed
Texas today that their game is pretty good. UT has lost 3
out of the last 4.
I forget who mentioned the Big 12 being stronger this year,
but I wouldn't say that's necessarily the case. What is
amazing is that 4 teams are so far out in front of everyone
else and are being recognized in the polls, UT #1, NU top
10, Baylor top 15 and MU ranked as high as 14th (maybe
higher-not sure).
OSU before the weekend was 500 in the conference and has a
good non-con record, as does TT and TAME, but the level of
competition in non-con games just isn't that great (better
overall than NU's I think, but still not great). So top to
bottom, maybe a little tougher, and definitely more crowded
at the top this year (especially this late in the season).
