I can assure you this sort of thing (and worse) was at least as prevalent
"back in the day," but it never got reported.

while they were members of the team. I'm sure I don't remember a few but
the only one between Devaney's first year and 1990 that comes to mind is
Johnny Rodgers and his infamous gas station armed robbery. So, from what I
remember either it wasn't as prevelant years back or the police and the
media are handling it differently today because in later years it seems we
have a few each year. My best guess is it would be a little of both.
