probably remember.  Prior to about fifteen years ago I don't remember
hearing much of anything about football players having scrapes with the law
while they were members of the team.  I'm sure I don't remember a few but
the only one between Devaney's first year and 1990 that comes to mind is
Johnny Rodgers and his infamous gas station armed robbery.  So, from what I
remember either it wasn't as prevelant years back or the police and the
media are handling it differently today because in later years it seems we
have a few each year.  My best guess is it would be a little of both.
