Well, that's my general feeling with SP; a lot of
things that he has done over the last year and a half
have not felt right.
Tom Shatel is confused as well, in today's Omaha
paper:
http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=1357225
Shatel brings up the inevitable comparisons to the
Solich firing (uh oh), and makes some good
observations, but I don't think he makes the correct
connection.
A couple of people on this list have stated that
Solich's dismissal was not about recruiting,
wins/losses, or blowouts, and I think they are dead
on. Tom Osborne, when he commented last winter about
it, pretty much summed it up when he said that after
hearing both sides of the situation, the whole
situation wasn't anything that couldn't have been
worked out in about an hour. (And if I had to guess,
it had to do with the relationship with the other
athletic department head that was reassigned by
Pederson - Boyd Epley.)
Bottom line is that Pederson feels comfortable with
Collier as coach.
