Why make a big production out of it, though? Doesn't that just increase
speculation that he might get fired NEXT year? Isn't that likely to
hurt recruiting too?
This struck me as a 'vote of confidence', which in the sports world almost
always means the clock is LOUDLY ticking towards the moment when it becomes
a vote of NO confidence.
How do you suppose SP would feel if HIS boss, Chancellor Harvey Perlman,
held a press conference on Monday and announced that Steve Pederson was
not being fired?
How would you feel if your boss held a press conference and announced that
you were not being fired?
This has nothing to do with whether it was the right decision. I'm not taking
a stand on that. It has to do with how people reacted to it. I reacted
negatively. I was just wondering if I was the only one who did. Perhaps so.
