     Chaney has indeed been suspended for the rest of the year.  But, that is not near enough.  I am not saying Knight did or didn't do the rught thing but it was to his own player.  And, he really didn't choke his own player.  Yes, he did indeed put his hand in the area of the players neck but I don't believe it could be construed as choking.  Even if Knight choked his own player to death, which he didn't, it doesn't excuse Chaney one iota.  Chaney's act was during a game and was premeditated.
