If I had a choice in dealing with either the NCAA or the IRS I would choose
the former in a heartbeat. The IRS might check into individuals activities
but would they investigate the institution? Weren't there some
Congressional hearings that questioned some aspects of Colorado's
program? Perhaps as a part of a larger inquiry?
In any case my "loss of institutional control" remark was inferring a
possible NCAA "death penalty" like what happened to SMU. Such a ruling
could really hurt the Big XII.
