Actually they did, but not until after the second 2-run double was hit. If you remember correctly, after that hit, one or two pitches was thrown to the next Florida hitter. Christy then called time and went out to the mound to change the sign sequence with Duensing. After that the Florida bats went pretty cold but then again the damage was already done.
