Maybe I'm just ignorant, but can someone explain to me why JUCO transfer
QB Zac Taylor is considered a challenger for the starting position at QB
next fall?

I'm looking at his stats in what appears to be the NJCAA National
Championship Game on 11/28/2004, a game his team lost 10-35:

PASSING: Wildcats-Jimmy Oliver 23-40-1-297. Grizzlies-Zac Taylor
10-35-5-104 (with one TD).

He seems to have padded his stats in a few blowouts (59-0, 62-10, 65-2,
67-6), but from what I can tell, he seems to have shared the QB duties and
had a QB rating somewhat lower than the other guy's:

PASSING GP Effic Att-Cmp-Int Pct Yds TD Lng Avg/G
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Zac Taylor 9 137.33 178-96-7 53.9 1384 14 49 153.8
Elbert Mack 10 178.43 166-111-7 66.9 1782 15 90 178.2

Let me stress that I'm not trying to be critical, but I am confused by the
numbers. What is making Taylor appear to a strong major college prospect?
