UNL has signed a new licensing deal with Adidas that goes through 2013 and
is worth $22 million in cash and Adidas products. I guess any strings
attached are shoestrings. :-)
Former Husker assistant coach Nelson Barnes is the third coach to leave
North Dakota State in the last few weeks and the fifth coach to depart
NDSU since Craig Bohl became the head coach. Barnes is going to Oklahoma
State, previously Tim Albin and Jimmy Burrow went to Ohio to be on
Frank Solich's staff, and maybe follow in his shoes.
Not exactly Husker-related, but Colorado State is claiming that CU initiated
contact with one of their verbal commits. While such contact is not
prohibited, most schools have a hands-off policy on another school's
verbals unless the recruit initiates contact with the school. As I recall,
this is not the first time that CSU has complained about CU contacting their
recruits. Attention Gary B: Is the shoe on the other foot now?
