I believe Turner Gill's loyalty to the Husker program probably hurt him in the long run. During Osbornes last few years with all of their success, it seems that Gill, Brown, and Solich were all talked about as pretty hot prospects for other positions. I can't remember if any offers were made but it seems that none of them were interested in leaving.

I do recall hearing that Bob Stoops was interested in Gill as an Offensive Coordinator. A couple years there in that position definitely would have helped his stock.

The last couple of sub-par years has probably hurt his reputation more than he deserves.
