That incident with Snyder is certainly included in the reasons but it
isn't the only reason. I doubt anyone would say a person shouldn't be a
Head Coach based on one incident and one incident only unless it was
something really monumental. One thing certainly working against Pelini is
his resume. To this very day the highest position Pelini has held on the
pro or college level for a complete season is DC at NU. He doesn't even
have that high of position now. And no, I don't condone what Callahan did
but I don't think one incident is worth firing him over either. Pelini
must be lacking something, though, as NU isn't the only one passing him
by. If he was an out and out world beater somebody would snatch him up.

I would agree he had a good run as DC for one season. As far as HC
it was just a continuation of the season. I would believe in the bowl game
Bo had the title "Interim Head Coach" but in reality Barney coached the
offense and Bo coached the defense. And, I guess I would ask how you would
know Callahan didn't get everything out of his players they had to offer?

How would Bo be more aware of that than Callahan prior to getting
here? Bo had no more Nebraska ties or background than Callahan did. Bo
didn't come here with the pressure of being Head Coach. That's true, but I
don't know how that makes one more aware of traditions. The only reason it
probably was impressed on Pelini more is he was coaching with a lot of
coaches that had NU ties and coaching under a Head Coach that went way back
so it would have been pretty straight forward to pick up on the traditions.

Most coaches get hired because they have Head Coaching experience in
their background. Don't just major on the negative. One season was a
Super Bowl Season as well.

Bo IS a good coach and someday undoubtedly will be a goo Head
Coach. He just needs more seasoning. He is still young, 38, as coaches
go. He has time. Bobby Bowden, for example, didn't become a Division-IA
Head Coach until he was 41.
