[Husker] Honk If You Want to Play DB

Now I'm starting to realize why arguments (and posts) like this will never
go away- certain folks are going to take a stance on this no matter what,
regardless of what the other side seems to think. In other words, some fans
are not willing to give this staff (or players for that matter) any sort of
chance whatsoever, while others are very forgiving. There doesn't seem to be
any "in between" here at all. You either hate the changes, or love them.

I have to admit that I am probably overly-optimistic when it comes to the
Huskers, perhaps because I am not used to seeing the team down like this.

Todd, do you know something that we all don't know about Lucky not signing
with Nebraska? Please share if so. Also, how exactly is Elmassian a blow
hard? Because his players didn't have a great year? Was anyone on the list
at any practices last season? I'm certainly not defending the staff (at
least not intentionally) but I'm just wondering what folks are basing their
opinions on here. As for the talent level, maybe Pelini was able to squeeze
more out of players like Washington and the Bullocks', who knows. I think we
will see just how much talent these guys have late on day 2 of this years
draft. I hope I'm wrong for their sake.

Finally, you are somewhat correct when you state that Callahan does not have
a very good record, but let me ask you this- how many haed coaches in the
world that are still living have taken a team to the Super Bowl? Isn't that
the goal of most coaches? Oakland would've fared much better if the opposing
team didn't know all their formations and tendencies like the backs of their
hands, since Gruden was behind it all the year before, IMO. The Raiders were
sitting ducks in that game, unless they completely changed their offense the
week before it.

Talent is what Pederson thinks is the most glaring problem, IMO.
This team was a proven ten game winner, talent wise, last year. So why
accept less? Especially with a softer schedule.

Absolutely! You can only take so much of anything. (unless its the option
game run to its best)

Callahan does not have a very good record, period. Especially when he is in
charge completely, ala, the second year of the Raiduhs.

I agree with this line of thinking. I do think Dailey was atrocious last
year. I thought he was the answer, but something or someone held him back.
You just cant run out of bounds when the game is on the line, no matter who
tells you to play it safe.

Yeah, he has game breaking speed, they say. I dont think he will sign with
NU though.

Super serious. Pilkington will prove to be a bigger loss than Herian.

Agreed. The O-Line will be nearly as good as vintage this year.

Each and every current D-Lineman better learn what it takes to get nasty in
the trenches, fast. The get pushed around terribly. There could be new faces

across the board here.

Hmmmm......just how good was Barrett?

Wow.....the biggest hole you say? That goes along with the worst secondary
Elmaisson has ever seen. Nobody will play for him. He's a blow hard and now
has no credibility. The juco's will help, because they are leaving in a year

or two anyway.
