Good Morning All:

What a fun game last night in Lincoln. Marcus Neal came back from a disastrous first half to score 6 in the second half and 13 points in the two OT periods to help Nebraska to a 95-85, double OT victory over Kansas State. As noted before, the end of regulation was very similar to the Tennessee game a couple of weeks ago with Neal at the line with three free throws to possibly win the game with 1.2 seconds left (Neal sank all three free throws against Tennessee with 1.3 seconds left to help NU escape with a one point victory in Knoxville a could of weeks ago). Neal missed the first of his three free throws but hit the next two to send the game into OT.

On the subject of free throws NU was 11/11 before Corey Sims missed a free throw midway through the second half, from that point on NU was about .500 from the free throw line.

This game was a very important win for Nebraska as they hit the road on Wednesday to take on Colorado (a 30 point loser to Oklahoma earlier on Saturday in Norman) in Boulder. NU needs to win at Boulder as their next three games after that are against Texas (in Lincoln), Kansas (in Lawrence) and Missouri (in Columbia). Anything less than starting 2-0 in the conference and you likely could be looking at an 0-5 start which wouldn't be good. The next four games are on TV (Colorado & Kansas on FSN Midwest, Texas & Missouri on ESPN Plus), if you have the opportunity to attend the Texas game next Saturday do so as they need all the support they can get. NU went to Austin last season and played Texas tough losing at the end by 2, 63-61.

The students will be back on campus for the next home game on Saturday (15th) against Texas that should liven things up quite a bit from last night as the crowd seemed to drag at times.
