The Husker men's BB team beat KSU at home in double overtime.
NU made a run at the end of the first half to lead by 10 and
boosted the lead in the third quarter to 48-35. They let KSU
take the lead at the end of the game. Amazingly, just as at
the end of the win at Tennessee, Neal was fouled shooting a
three with just over a second to play. Unlike at Tennessee,
he missed the first, but like that game, he sank the second
and third. In the first overtime, KSU continued their momentum
of the fourth quarter and took the early lead. NU came back
(despite terrible free throw shooting in OT) and looked as if
they had the game in hand when KSU missed a three as time ran
down. However, KSU came up with the loose ball on the rebound
and put up another three that was good. NU didn't get a shot
off after that and the game went to the second overtime. NU
took the early lead in the 2nd OT and as KSU was coming back
NU hit a huge three to take the game in hand.

This was a must conference win for the Huskers in the conference
opener for both teams. KSU is now 10-2 (after playing a not
very challenging non-conference schedule). The Huskers have
looked better at the end of the game against Tennessee and
KSU, but they need to hit more free throws than they did in
OT tonight.
