      I don't disagree with you but I think I might know the reason they 
may be showing little interest.  It's like everything else.  Follow the 
money trail.  I can't remember who I was listening to about two weeks ago, 
probably Rome or Patrick, and they were dealing with this very 
subject.  The point was being made was that college presidents are 
basically watching one thing and that is the bottom line.  With that comes 
fund raising.  They aren't remotely interested in if the system is fair or 
not.  They just know with the present system they are making money.  The 
radio personality made the point if someone could show the college 
presidents that by going to a playoff system more money would be produced 
we would have a playoff system in place virtually over night.  Until 
someone can convince them of that we will continue the way we are.  So, no 
I don't think to college presidents whether or not the present system is 
producing a real National Champion or not is an issue.  It will only become 
an issue when the bank account is affected.
