      There are always exceptions to every rule that work out.  IIRC 
correctly even though that worked out Ditka was less than pleased with the 
situation.

     And check what kind of season the Bucs had this year with pretty much 
the same coaches.  :-)

     The bottom line and rule of thumb is typically Head Coaches want their 
own staff.  While one can point to certain situations it is human nature to 
want your own people.  Sometimes one or two assistants may be retained but 
hardly ever are all assistants retained for the new coach.  Solich is doing 
it at Ohio and we'll never know but Solich may have done it at NU  had it 
not been for the agreement with TO to retain the assistants for however 
many years.


      I doubt anyone will be getting fired real soon.  I don't know who 
people thought should have been the DC.  There was no way it was going to 
be Bo Pelini anyway.  When he wasn't named Head Coach he was gone.
