I think there could/would be a slight advantage as the back would have the opportunity to watch the defensive setup without the defensive backs or corners being able to read the running backs eyes or location he is watching. Not sure if that makes any sense though...just a thought.
On another note, I had thought that when Ricky Williams was at Texas, the visor he wore (dark/smoke) was at some point "outlawed" by the NCAA and he had to go back to a clear visor. (maybe it was to obscure his "red eye")!
