In your time as a major league scout, did you ever have to tell a prospect that he just wasn't good enough for a career in baseball?

How did you communicate this?

In general, how did the player and his parents react to your assessment? Did they thank you for helping avoid a lot of wasted time? Or were they convinced you would not know talent if it smacked you in the face?
