It all depends on their contracts, and that varies a lot from school to
school. Most schools don't like to talk about it much, either.

Some of them may have multi-year contracts (or at least contracts that
run until June or so), or severance clauses.

But some of them are going to be unemployed, possibly by the end of the
month (though I suspect most have deals that go through the end of the
academic year) and they will be scrambling to find a job somewhere.

The media reports a lot on the head coach moves, but the assistants get
shuffled around even more.

When UNL fired half the staff after the 2002 season, I think all of them
had contracts that continued through the 2003 season. Nelson Barnes worked
as an unpaid assistant coach at Nebraska Wesleyan in 2003, as I recall.
I don't know where he was for the 2004 season.

When the other half (more or less) got fired after 2004, I think they
all had at least one year to go (and SP wasn't happy about that, either.)

Bo had 2 years on his contract as I recall. I suspect he took a cash
settlement so he didn't have any contractual issues with going to OU.
I don't know what kind of deal he has there, has the rumor about his going
to Ohio to work for Frank Solich again been confirmed yet?
