I was using "winning" as a general term. I realize that one
particular year NU didn't win more than they lost. But they didn't lose
more than they won either and were coming off a long streak of seasons
where there were at least nine wins.

I pointed to one instance but Dukes certainly wasn't the only
player to leave during the Devaney, Osborne, and Solich regimes and if I
recall he wasn't the only one to leave that season. The point is no one
really remembers those kids that left because the beat went on so no big
deal. Plus, the attitude seemed to be if you don't want to play for TO,
for example, we don't need you. I am not personally alarmed at the
defections from this year. I think it is pretty normal to have a
program undergo the sweeping changes this one has and have a shakeup on
the roster.

I totally agree. Not only make mistakes but being kids they will
sometimes say things which later in life they will regret saying.
