Bob, Dukes left after the 7-7 season when so many
people were calling for Solich to be fired and saying
it was the worst season and worst team in 30 years
etc. so I would hardly say that he left when NU was
winning. Also I think one difference is that that is
one player leaving and saying it was due to the
coaches while this year we have had 5-6 leave and say
it was due to the coaches. I do agree that there are
times we forget the age and maturity level of the
players and that is the times when we talk about how
bad they are and how they made a big mistake to cost
us a game or when they get picked up for underage
drinking. We forget they are kids, many on their own
for the first time, and are under a great deal of
pressure and that they will make mistakes.
