I can only conclude that you weren't around in the late 1970s or early
1990s, don't remember, or have forgotten.  He was near to being
pushed out --- enough so that he thought about leaving voluntarily.
You've set up a straw man --- trying to stick the claim that "his
W-L record wasn't important to his record" in the mouths of those
who have noted the importance of his chraracter to his record ---
when in fact no one has said any such thing.  It's difficult for me
to understand what you get out of twisting an argument to be against
something no one has even said and then repeatedly downplaying and
dismissing the importance of integrity to his record and apparently
questioning his honesty.
