In the first place with steroids we are not just talking something illegal. We are talking about a substance that is performance enhancing. We are talking something which can and does affect your ability to play, in this case, football. I would have no problem at my job if testing was done to ensure people weren't doing something illegal that affected their job performance.
But, we are drifting a little. I really am not that concerned whether or not TO did or didn't look the other way. The only reason I even brought it up was I was told by someone who played and started for TO steroid use went on and named people which used them and there were at least two other posters who said they knew people that tested positive for steroids while TO was the coach. I was just trying to make sense of the quote attributed to TO "other than the first two years no one tested positive for steroids." I am not trying to judge whether he looked the other way and if it is right or wrong. With the information I had I was just surprised at his statement.
