I can't think of two situations that are farther away from being analogous
than the Nebraska football program vs. the Nebraska basketball program. Why
comparisons are even attempted I do not know. Obviously, there are huge, HUGE
differences.

I don't think there is a student body (and those who stormed the court WERE
students) in the country from an underdog/unrated school that WOULDN'T have
stormed the court after their team just upset the number 4 team in the country
(maybe Minnesota, they have an elevated floor that sits more-or-less on a stage
that could make it tough to get to the playing surface). It happens
everywhere. I see that one conference (ACC?) is handing out fines to schools whose
fans storm the court. I think that's rediculous. Another over-reaction to the
Pacers-Pistons fiasco. Excited students wanting to celebrate with their team
... I never ran onto a court from a spectator standpoint, but I used to be 21.

By the way, some of us think Pedersen sounded like an idiot for criticizing
Mizzou fans the way he did.

I wasn't embarrassed by the fans behavior. Far from it. No, fans shouldn't
ever be on the floor. But "embarassed?" I don't get that.

For only 8,300, it was a loud, energetic crowd that really wants to win -- on
a regular basis.
