You're right. I am doing that. But, I am doing it deliberately. There is a reason. I am getting weary of every time something seemingly negative comes out of Husker camp between a coach and a player it is automatically Callahan's fault or some coaches fault. It is never the players fault. I am also weary of it is always Pederson's fault or it was Pederson that lied no matter what. Something else you are right about. It is ALL speculation. Most of us don't know any more than the next person about what goes on in Husker camp. We tend to rely on the media for our information. So, beings virtually everyone else is speculating against on the staff I thought I would speculate in favor of the staff for some balance. And it is not playing Devil's advocate. As you said and I agree nobody knows a hill of beans any more than anyone else. If you take the entirety of posts to this list in a years time I would believe the lion's share of posts fall under the category of speculation or just flat out guessing, mine included. We could knock that out but there would be precious little left of this list.
The bottom line here is no one is sure at all whether Callahan treated Birkel, or any other player, justly or not. And, we will never know for sure until we hear both sides of the story from those involved in person. The likelihood of that happening is slim and none and Slim just left town on the last stage.
