I loved your post, but this paragraph bothers me.  Everything I've
read indicates that the coaches never promised playing time.  The only
thing similar to that was "We won't recruit another ________".  In
fact, Beck even mentioned that he was never promised a starting
position and he was looking forward to the added competition (Zac
Taylor).

Some players indicated that THEY believed they would have a chance to
start right away, but that was just deducted from the common sense of
a struggling program and players on the way out.

Maybe I'm mistaken, please send me a URL or something where a player
was promised PT right away and I'll retract this statment, but I
haven't seen it at all.
