Tom's offense and defense changed many times during his years as head
coach, partly in response to what other teams were doing, and partly
in response to the players he had available to him. I'm sure he would
continue to do the same if he were still active today. Would he
discard the power option if he felt it was untenable? I think so. Do I
think he was capable of continuing to evolve the power option to
continue to be competitive? Certainly.
