I think is also needs to be said that we lost several players on the
kickoff and punt teams so we were putting in any players they could find
to try to contain their return game. That's why the final kickoff by the
Huskers was a squib kick.

I think I'm the someone. :)
You make a good point, and I don't disagree. However, there was
what seemed to me a coverage breakdown in at least one return.
Early to midway into the game a Michigan return headed to their
right side of the field. The coverage converged, and the returner
then broke left where there was no containment. He ended up gaining
30 or 40 yards, on what sure seemed like a coverage failure.
Although the coverage in subsequent kicks may not have been great,
this breakdown probably colored my perceptions. I'll agree Michigan
should get credit for their excellent returns.
